AMSORB® PLUS is a CO₂ absorbent used during anaesthesia, designed to remove carbon dioxide without degrading anaesthetic agents. Its reaction involves calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)₂) and carbon dioxide (CO₂), producing calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) and water. Unlike other absorbents, AMSORB® PLUS does not produce harmful by-products like carbon monoxide (CO) or formaldehyde (HCHO), making it safer for patients. It maintains granule strength and optimizes hydration, ensuring effective CO₂ absorption.
